Machinist with experience manually milling and turning a variety of metals including, carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Full-time M-F, Some weekends may be required. 1) Set up and operate manual mills and lathes. 2) Must be proficient fabricating parts from drawings. 3) Must be able to accurately measure parts using a variety of instruments as appropriate for a given part or circumstance. 4) Must be comfortable machining new and a variety of different parts. 5) Ability to improvise a plus. Qualifications Must be experienced setting up and operating manual mills and lathes to machine and turn a variety of parts from drawings and written instructions. Must be very proficient using basic measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and other instruments and gauges as required.
Verify conformance of machined work to specifications, using measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, or fixed or telescoping gauges. Study machining instructions, job orders, or blueprints to determine dimensional or finish specifications, sequences of operations, setups, or tooling requirements. Select and set cutting speeds, feed rates, depths of cuts, and cutting tools, according to machining instructions or knowledge of metal properties.
Must have work experience in aerospace(15 years). Must have experience with measuring tools, grinding, power and hand tools. Experience with close tolerances and finishes preferred.
